Natalie was given the honor of opening the first gift of the season. It was a glowworm from her brothers and sister. She looked at it on her lap and then bent down and kissed it.
About 3 minutes later, she spit up her carrots all over it and stained it orange.
And then came the morning (all too soon) where our good little boys and girls found presents from mom and dad, grandmas and grandpas, and of course good 'ol Saint Nic! Megan, no doubt, received everything on her wish list. From music to makeup, perfume and clothes...Barbies were NOT on the list this year. Matthew was excited to receive lazer tag, a clock, a calendar, a sled, and a game, but none of these were nearly as exciting as the Wii (compliments of Papa Joe). Earlier in the month I asked Jeremy if he was going to sit on Santa's lap and tell him what he wanted. "No," he said, "he doesn't bring me what I want anyway." Mom and Dad had a very serious talk with the man in the red suit. This year Jeremy decided that maybe Santa wasn't so bad after all. He was thrilled to find Hot Wheels, Play-Doh, Iron Man, Legos, a sled, and a "real" camera. Andrew was fixated all.day.long. on his Geo-trax, although he also received a Thomas the Train game, and his own special Wall-E pillow and blanket. Natalie found her very first laptop under the tree, and seemed somewhat interested in the dolly Santa left her. Otherwise we held her most of the day to keep her safe from all the chokable parts.
Hope your holiday was merry and bright too!
