Life's little questions

Is she that old already?
Our little Megan is not so little anymore:( She is quickly growing into a beautiful young woman. Last Sunday I told Brent that she had a fireside to attend that evening. His response: “Is she that old already?” Indeed she is, and to add to that fact, this past week we registered her for junior high. Oh dear!

Mom, do I have scouts tonight?
This is the question he asks me nearly every weeknight. Matthew absolutely loves scouts and is already working hard to earn his patches and belt loops. I have a feeling his enthusiasm won’t last until the Eagle, but we’ll ride this one out as far as it will take us. Isn’t he just adorable in his scout uniform?

Jeremy, did you…?
This is my daily question which I don’t even know why I bother asking. It is always followed by, “It wasn’t me. Andrew did it!” Even though his mischievousness drives me crazy, it still doesn’t overpower my daily “good morning, Mom” and tight arms around the neck hugs.

Where’s Andrew?
Andrew has been defying every measure taken to ensure he is safely kept indoors. He has managed to escape undetected a couple of times, wondering off to the park and to the neighbor’s house. Most recently I could not find Andrew. I searched every room in the house and drove around the neighborhood, but to no avail. Obviously I was not very thorough in my house search.

As you can see, he was “hiding” behind the cushion, fast asleep on the couch.

So what are we going to call her now?
I know, I know. Here we go again. There has been talk in the house about changing “the baby’s” name again. Jeremy suggested Tinkerbell because that’s a girl’s name. For now, we are affectionately referring to her as “the baby” until we reach a consensus on what her name will be. Permanently. We try to discuss the matter while she is sleeping...we don't want her go through an identity crisis.

It's Great To Be Eight!

Happy Birthday Matthew!

Remember when.....

Matthew 2 years old. I just want to kiss that
drippy, sticky ice cream face!

Lots of fun for Matthew today. It started with a treasure hunt around the house until he discovered his new set of wheels. He gave it a quick test ride, and then he was off to his soccer game. In the afternoon he and his friends enjoyed a game of bowling. Back at home it was presents, cake and ice cream. Pizza for dinner and Legos with Dad and Jeremy finished off a perfectly fun day.

Doughlectibles

I extend my gratitude to my mother-in-law for teaching my husband how to bake. Brent once again blessed us with his culinary talents and made these sensational cinnamon rolls completely from scratch. Oh yum!

Why you can't "walk" a cat

All the kids were happily playing out back when Andrew wandered in with a leash. Brent said to him, "Oh no, Andrew, that's for a dog." And then Brent got this sinister idea...

Warning! Cat lovers may find the following videos contain disturbing images.

At first, it seemed to be going sort of ok...

and then...

...you see why you can't "walk" a cat.

Poor kitty!

The Tagging Thing

Seven Facts About Me

1. I wanted to be a nurse ever since I was 15 years old when I was candystriper at Redlands Community Hospital. (By the way, Sheree, I don’t think you’re weird for liking IV’s. Now if you said you liked the poke required to get the IV, then I’d think that you were, uh…weird.)

2. My exact height is 4 feet, 11¾inches, which qualifies me for a handicap placard if I so choose.

3. Country music makes me cry. Real tears.

4. I give myself a "D-" in daily dinner preparation for my family.

5. I fail miserably at routine. I am the most consistently inconsistent person I know. (which explains my lousy grade on #4)

6. I think my kids are the funniest people in the whole wide world.

7. I’m a Libra who enjoys long late night phone conversations with her husband when he’s out of town.

Unfortunately, the tag stops here. I suffer from blogger association deficiency. I already promised my dear friend, Heather, I would never tag her. As you can see from my limited friends and family list, I have no one left to tag. That won’t bring me bad luck, will it?
